Ryan Sarhan was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. With his fellowship, Ryan plans to pursue graduate studies in biosystems engineering.

“The reason I chose biosystems engineering was because it would allow me to study the intersection between the fields of biology and engineering, especially related to biological systems, agricultural production, and environmental remediation,” he said. “There is also the potential to make a positive impact on the world by developing solutions to complex problems related to food security, sustainable agriculture, and environmental conservation.”
