Fulbright Canada-Mitacs Globalink Research Internship
The Fulbright Canada-Mitacs Globalink Research Internship program enables students to undertake advanced research projects in Canada for up to 12 weeks over the summer in their area of interest. Projects will be drawn from a broad cross-section of research topics covering all academic disciplines and students will be placed with a university research project and undertake research projects under the supervision of a professor. Students will be given the opportunity to take part in professional training as well as extensive opportunity for cultural, social, and recreational experiences.

Rachel Hwang Psychology, sociology and philosophy major Rachel Hwang was awarded a Fulbright-Canada-MITACS Globalink Research Internship for summer 2024. Hannah Thomas Biology and Health, Society and Populations major Hannah Thomas was awarded a Fulbright Canada-MITACS Globalink Research Internship in the program’s inaugural year. Thomas will perform research under faculty supervisor Bilkis Vissandjée, a professor in the School of Nursing and a researcher at the Institute of Public Health Research at the University of Montreal. Vissandjée’s research works to address the challenges associated with providing quality of care in a multiethnic context within a gender, migration and equity sensitive perspective.
