Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants
Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. One hundred twenty-five $1,000 grants are awarded each year.
All undergraduate UK students are eligible because UK has an active Phi Kappa Phi chapter on campus.

Caitlin Deffendall Health, Society and Populations & Public Health major Caitlin Deffendall received a Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant to study in Chile during summer 2023. |

Samantha Padgett Human health sciences senior Sam Padgett received a Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant to support her participation in UK's "Health and Health Care in Paris" program during summer 2023. "Traveling to Paris has given me valuable insights into the French culture, lifestyle, and healthcare system and how these factors differ from those of the United States," she said. "It has been an amazing learning experience, both professionally and personally. I am so grateful for the support and opportunity provided by the Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant that made this possible!" |

Sophie Wingo Art history and visual studies & Spanish major Sophie Wingo received a Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant to study in Spain during summer 2023. "Spanish language, culture, and art has always fascinated me, and being able to have studied abroad in Segovia, Spain during this summer has given me the wonderful opportunity to experience these things in person!" she said. "From group excursions of surrounding cities to spending time with my host family, each moment abroad has been a truly life-changing experience that will remain close to my heart." Maryrose Ramsey Chemical engineering major Maryrose Ramsey received a Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant to study in Italy. |

Amani Shalash Amani Shalash, an Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education major, was awarded a Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant. She will travel to Guatemala and perform special education assessments on local children. |

Rachel Wright Rachel Wright, a senior majoring in International Studies and Political Science, was awarded a Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grant. She will study at Vesalius College in Brussels, Belgium. |

Savanah Sellars Integrated Strategic Communication major Savanah Sellars was awarded a Study Abroad Grant from Phi Kappa Phi (PKP). Savanah is one of 25 students nationwide to receive the award. Read more in UKNow. |
