Goldwater Scholarship Campus Deadline

The Goldwater Scholarship is a prestigious award for sophomores or juniors engaged in research who are planning to pursue STEM research careers. The scholarship is open to U.S. citizens, nationals or permanent residents. 

The application has several components, including: questionnaire, research essay, three recommendation letters, and transcript(s).

This award requires university endorsement with the following steps:

• NOW: Review eligibility and complete pre-application here. Our office will contact you with additional instructions upon receipt of your pre-application.
• CAMPUS DEADLINE: MONDAY, NOV. 24: Complete the online Goldwater Scholarship application for review by campus committee. Letters of recommendation should also be submitted to the Office of Nationally Competitive Awards by this date.
• DECEMBER: Goldwater faculty committee meets to select UK's four nominees for the national competition. All applicants will be notified after nominees are selected. Nominees will be given further instructions on timeline for national selection process.
