The NextGen Service Fellowship provides funding for students to gain hands-on experience in international development while addressing the needs of communities overseas. The Fellowship aims to inspire and equip the next generation of American public service leaders through immersive, hands-on experience working in and with communities around the world, including Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean.   

Eligibility:

  • 21 years or older
  • Enrolled as a UK student as of May 1, 2026
  • Available for an international summer 2026 internship, service-learning or volunteer project for 4 weeks between mid-July and mid-August

Selection criteria:

  • Interest and/or commitment to a career in the humanitarian and development sector
  • Academic merit
  • Leadership and responsibility
  • Flexibility and adaptability
