Shelley Zhou, a 2016 and 2019 History graduate, was awarded a Fulbright Research Grant. She will pursue research on the history of illustrated children’s stories.
“Since cerebral palsy limits my mobility, I have loved reading and history since childhood,” she said. “My parents emigrated from China to the United States; studying modern and contemporary Chinese history has helped me begin to better understand their experiences as well as the experiences of their generation in China more generally.”
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or for English Teaching Assistant Programs.
