North American Language and Culture Assistants in Spain

The North American Language and Culture Assistants in Spain program enables American college students and graduates to partner with elementary and secondary schools in Spain to bolster language programs. Participants serve as language assistants (TAs) under the supervision and guidance of teachers in Spain.

Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program

JET students participate in an exchange program in Japan to teach English or work in local offices dealing with international relations or teaching sports.

Gilman Scholarship

The U.S. Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is a grant program that enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad, thereby gaining skills critical to our national security and economic competitiveness.

Fulbright U.S. Student Program

Lexington Sister Cities Internships

The Lexington Sister Cities Commission offers internships in Deauville, France and Shinhidaka, Japan.

Boren Undergraduate Scholarship

The Boren Scholarship funds language study in world regions critical to U.S. interests for undergraduate students.

Critical Language Scholarship Program

The Critical Language Scholarship Program provides fully-funded intensive language instruction in host countries during the summer for up to 10 weeks.

Boren Graduate Fellowship

The Boren Fellowship funds language study and research abroad in world regions critical to U.S. interests for graduate students.

Blakemore Freeman Fellowships

Blakemore Freeman Fellowships are awarded for one academic year of advanced level language study in East or Southeast Asia. Eligible languages are Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Burmese, Indonesian, Khmer, Thai, and Vietnamese.
